Future Outlook – International Gemmological Institute (India) Ltd.
IGI (India) is well-positioned to sustain its growth momentum, backed by its leadership in diamond certification, expanding global footprint, and the rising adoption of lab grown diamonds (LGDs) and certified jewelry. With the global diamond and jewelry industry increasingly favoring transparency, traceability, and third party certification, IGI’s role as a trusted, independent certifier is becoming even more critical.
The company expects to deliver 15–20% revenue growth in CY25, driven by strong volume growth, especially in the lab-grown diamond and jewelry certification segments, where it holds a commanding 65% global share. India will continue to outpace consolidated growth, as it remains the world’s largest cutting and polishing hub for both natural and lab grown diamonds.
The upcoming 214,000+ sq. ft. Surat facility, along with continued investments in talent and digital transformation, will enable IGI to scale operations efficiently and maintain rapid turnaround times.
Additionally, the company’s education vertical and in-factory/mobile lab formats will play a pivotal role in brand expansion, client retention, and new customer acquisition. With certification prices now stabilized post the lab-grown price correction, and operational efficiencies improving through cost optimization and digital automation, IGI is also poised for further margin expansion. Management has guided for PAT margins in the 57–64% range for CY25, even as hiring and infrastructure investments continue.
Tariff related risks are being closely monitored, but the company’s largely domestic certification flows and global diversification limit its vulnerability. Overall, IGI remains focused on consolidating its market leadership, deepening client relationships, and expanding into high potential, underpenetrated markets especially in lab grown jewelry and emerging markets like China and the Middle East.
